WELLNESS CENTER ROOF DECK
This lush and expansive green roof at the Brown University Wellness Center can be experienced from the roof deck, from within the building, and from street level. Recover installed LiveRoof 6" trays over two connecting roof areas above the first floor, and a series of Loll planters along the building’s eastern and southern parapets. In addition to providing a relaxing escape for students, faculty, and staff, this roof also intercepts, cleans, and reduces roof runoff while providing additional building insulation to minimize heating and cooling loads.
The meadow plant palette includes heuchera, Pennsylvania sedge, catmint, butterfly milkweed, and a variety of other native plants, while the parapet planters feature feather reed grasses and ‘Berkshire’ juniper.
