A ROOF DECK TO FIT
Located adjacent to the T Station at Assembly Row in Somerville, this sun-soaked amenity space sits just outside FitRow—a 15,000-square-foot space that is home to several boutique fitness studios and a juice bar. The terrace features three distinct seating areas: a sustainably-sourced hardwood deck, ombré concrete paver patio, and integrated turf lawn designed for fitness classes.
An intensive green roof adds color to the western edge of the deck, while oversize custom-fabricated corten steel planters with perennial grasses form the keystone to the contemporary design. A glazed railing provides uninterrupted views of Assembly Row and the Mystic River and accentuates the airy rooftop feel. Recover led the complete construction and installation of the roof deck, including green roof, hardscaping, irrigation, planters, and custom site furnishings.
